Businesses from across the breadth of Powys are represented in the county’s premier business awards.  The highly popular competition sees 28 businesses shortlisted for 12 different award categories in this year’s Powys Business Awards. 

The host for the Powys Business Awards ceremony, which will be held in October, has been announced by organisers Mid Wales Manufacturing Group. ITV’s Coast & Country TV presenter Andrew Price is considered one of the UK’s leading authorities on the subject of Bushcraft and Wilderness living. 

Businesses in Powys are being urged not to delay to ensure their entries into the 2019 Powys Business Awards competition. The deadline for entries is Friday 12th July with applications able to be submitted online or via post.

A Hay-on-Wye company which specialises in providing outsourced packaging solutions to the pharmaceutical industry, completed a notable double at the Powys Business Awards.

The host for the Powys Business Awards ceremony being held on Friday, 28th September has been announced as  BBC Wales Today Presenter and former Aberystwyth University student Claire Summers.  She has been a familiar face on BBC Wales Today for more than a decade. She was, for many years, a news presenter before becoming the sports presenter on the programme. She has anchored coverage of London Olympics, the Ryder Cup and, most recently, Geraint Thomas's homecoming.

An innovative Newtown-based company that provides a range of cellular pathology services celebrated a notable double at the Powys Business Awards held at Derring Lines in Brecon.

Successful Newtown-based company Quartix Ltd, which specialises in vehicle tracking technology, has been named Powys Business of the Year.

Dynamic agricultural supplies and specialist retail business Wynnstay Group has been named the Powys Business of the Year.

The top accolade went to Makefast Ltd, which impressed judges with its innovative skills, its strategies in a tough market, its new products and its staff development.
